Some of my Favorite Recipes Using Essential Oils

I especially love cooking with essential oils because I feel as though I get such a purity of flavor, and my essential oils come in such a concentrated form, and so it takes much less to flavor our foods! Using essential oils can cut way down on our waste too, because you will only need to use a drop or two of oil, and you’ll have your bottle of essential oil to last you for months! Sometimes we only need a drop or two of lemon or orange on our fish, or in our smoothie, and then we are left with lots of leftovers or wastes of our fruit or herb. For a home cooked meal, just using a squeeze or two of a fresh lemon, or using a sprig or two of thyme or basil, will often lead to unneeded leftover ingredients, which is a such a waste of foods. When using my essential oils, especially if an ingredient isn’t in season, the cost and waste of the foods, are certainly lessened by using essential oils. 

So today, I want to give you a couple of our incredible doTERRA recipes, that I have really enjoyed using my essential oils with. Incorporating essential oils into your family’s diet can be soo easy, and really delicious!  

¼ cup olive oil
1–3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar to taste
½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 tablespoon Parmesan cheese (optional)
1–3 drops oregano essential oil (start with a toothpick and progress toward drops for desired flavor).  Check out my favorite droppers to use for my oils HERE


  1. Gently mix together all ingredients in a bowl large enough to dip into.
  2. Dip favorite Italian style bread into bowl and enjoy.


These Wild Orange and coconut power bites are the perfect on-the-go snack to have made ahead and prepared for times when you need something fast or easy. Coconut is the world’s most weight loss friendly fat. It contains a unique combination of fatty acids with powerful effects on metabolism. Several studies show that just by adding coconut oil to your diet, you can lose fat, especially the “dangerous” fat in the abdominal cavity.


  • 1 cup finely shredded coconut, divided
  • 1 cup almond butter
  • 1 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup raw honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 3 drops wild orange essential oil

Place all ingredients into mixer except for half cup shredded coconut and essential oil. Stir together until well incorporated. Add your 3 drops of wild orange essential oil. Find my favorite essential oil droppers HERE. Mix until well combined. Roll into balls and coat in the other half cup of shredded coconut. You’re done! Store in the refrigerator and eat whenever you need any extra boost of energy or before a workout.


  • 1 cup popcorn kernels
  • 1/4 cup unrefined coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 5-6 drops On Guard Protective Blend
  • 2-3 drops Cinnamon Bark essential oil
  • ground cinnamon (for color, if desired)
  • salt to taste


Air pop the popcorn and place in a large mixing bowl. Melt the coconut oil in a saucepan. Remove from heat and stir in the maple syrup and essential oils.  You can even use these spray tops HERE for just spritzing your essential oils into your mixture.  Pour maple syrup mixture over the popcorn and mix well. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon and a touch of salt. Mix thoroughly and enjoy!
